This is my first game! I created this prototype along with my classmate Denis as part of MIT’s five-day professional education course Game Development for Software Engineers. My original concept was to develop a simple educational game that would expose my 5-year-old son to basic pre-calculus concepts.
We created the prototype using the Unity Game Engine, a free version of which can be downloaded here. Both Denis and I worked on the game design, playtesting, and coding, and I did the art using colored pencils and a scanner. Assets we “borrowed” from the Internet include the chalkboard backgrounds, the font, the 8-bit sound effects (some of which we made using this tool), and the wonderful music (though sadly I can’t remember where we got it).
If you like the game, please let me know via Twitter. Many thanks to the MIT Game Lab for hosting such a great course!
